As a diabetic, I use Sport Beans during triathlons and training to maintain blood glucose levels and provide the energy to maintain endurance. It saves me from dangerous low blood sugar levels.

I carry Sports Beans when riding my bike. They are easy to eat on long rides and are a great boost. I keep them in a small tube with a flip top so I can eat them and keep on going. Beats anything else I have tried while riding.

Sport beans are great to take on a long bike ride, especially on a hot day. The pack is the perfect size, and the sport beans have a little zip to them that acts as a pick-me-up, plus they're fun to eat! :)

Not sure about the new packaging---difficult to open on a bike, especially if the zip seal gets closed accidentally

Jellybean Joggers

Comments:

My daughter, Jean, had a craving for jellybeans when she was going through chemo. I would bring a four-pound jug of jellybeans every time she had to go to the hospital for treatment. She passed away 3 yers ago from a brain tumor at the age of 21. Her favorite colors were blue and orange. You used to have blue sports beans. On her first angelversary I handed out blue and orange sports beans. This year I am doing the Relay for Life in her memory. My team is called the Jellybean Joggers. Jean loved sports and would think it was great that we are passing out sports beans in her memory.

Best form of boost for sports

Use: Every 5 miles during inline speed skating marathons, we call it "beaning up" this gives me the enrgey and stamina to continue on. Great thing about sport beans: It doesn't leave a nasty residue or after taste in your mouth like some other energy boosts. Not so great: The package, and this is a nit picky thing, but at 20-25 mph, I don't want to fumble with a bag. So I slide the beans into plastic tubes that I put in my jersey pouch. Each tube fits about 8 beans, when I need them I pop the top and they shoot in my mouth. We call them "Bean Shooters." You may check with your local bead shop to find the tubes, or if the product designer for Jelly Belly is reading this, they may come out with them someday....

I prefer these over Gels and Goos and such items as I find they go down pretty easy during a long run. I lived off these during my last Ragnar. These are a staple during my 15+ mile runs.
