Training with Jelly Belly

I have riden my road bike over 3,000 miles the last two years and use Jelly Belly for a pickup durng training and events. It is easy to use easy to carry, and seems to add a pick up during my exercise times. I recommend Jelly Belly to those I ride with. And the price seems to be fair and reasonable.
Comparison with Gu and Clif Bloks

I tried these as an alternative to Gu packets and Clif Bloks. The bags were in convenient serving sizes, and promised to be easy to use on the bike, and offer welcome variety. I cut off the top before the ride, leaving the resealable lock. Unfortunately, even while waiting for the ride to start, I couldn't get into the packet. Good thing I didn't try while I was actually riding! I tried to tear the entire top off the bag and put them in my jersey for later use. Unfortunately that resulted in beans all over the ground and in my pocket. While well-intentioned, these bags are useless for sports. They are quite tasty though, and the serving size is perfect.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Started using these during interval hill training that lasted longer than an hour. My wife meets me at the bottom of the hill with a bottle of water and a couple beans. It makes a huge difference over just a sports drink.

I mountain bike once or twice a week, and being that I don't have much time, I push it hard when I am on the trail. The Sport Beans give me a little boost when I am completely out of gas. It's needed to push through the hard riding.

I've Seen the Light

I've been running fairly consistently for nearly 4 years. Typically, I try to get out for a long run about once a week. On those runs I've tried everything: gels, sports bars, sports drinks, water, etc., but nothing compares to Sports Beans. On the suggestion of a friend, I picked up a few packets, and decided to take one along with me this morning. I popped a few of the variety pack beans in every 20-30 minutes, and was able to do my 8 miler, with significant hills, without any problem. My only regret is that I haven't tried these sooner! They go down easy, are flavorful, and gave me that extra boost I needed as I was climbing. Looking forward to next's weekend's long run already!

I used these while mountain biking. They do all they should and taste great also. Only con I can come up with is they are hard to eat while riding. I don't mind taking a break every half hour or so, so not that big of a deal. And I do recommend them to everyone with in ear shot.
